Columbus Green Spot

We’re proud to be a Columbus Green Spot!

The City of Columbus launched the Green Spot program as a way to recognize area residents, businesses, and community groups who are working to use our resources in a responsible manner that will conserve and protect them for future generations.

To become a Green Spot, the Zoo committed to reduce its waste and recycle, conserve (or reduce) its energy use, and conserve its water use (including storm water). We track our progress and submit an annual report of our activities. By pledging to be a Green Spot, the Zoo is resolved to be a leader in conservation and contribute to our community’s future. And, of course, by doing all of this, we’ll save resources and money – all while reducing our carbon footprint!
