Conservation around the World

"Let's define hope as the belief that things can get better. But to believe that things can get better, then not act on that belief, reduces us to mere wishing. One must have hope - and one must act."  - Carl Safina

Conservation isn’t just a byword or convenient mission statement for the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium – it’s who we are and what we do. Through our conservation grants program, our conservation partners in the field, and the work done on grounds by our dedicated staff, the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium actively, and passionately advocates and advances conservation worldwide, not only through programs that save animals, but programs that save people and habitats, too. We understand that conservation begins at home, whether your home is in central Ohio or central Rwanda – and we aim to inspire conservation through lifting up the people and places that share a connection with the animals we are working to save.
